I went snorkeling in Hawaii several years ago and had to choke back (literally choke) fear of what could be hiding in the reef--eels, things that would shoot out and bite me. But then I got to the edge and it plunged into nothingness, and then I felt real fear of what could be in the depths.

I'm with you on fearing the depths, but more than that, I want to be fruitful.Jenniferhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01154350786925948762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36811914143504752.post-67893369168316027662010-03-03T00:46:40.712-05:002010-03-03T00:46:40.712-05:00Threw you in!?! I ...OHFORCRYINGOUTLOUD! She threw you in the pool?

I don't know even know what to say to that.

You add a new -- but very real -- dimension to the parable of the soils with the deep and shallow ends of the pool, Julie. Being good soil, letting roots grow deep, churns up a whole lot of unknown, uncertain, sometimes unpleasant stuff.

Praying for you as you put on the floaties and swim into the deeper water. It's something we can all use a little more of. I so appreciate -- as always -- your brave vulnerability with this post.Lyla Lindquisthttp://adifferentstory.netnoreply@blogger.com
