The big questions in life still stifle me.
They hold me back from completely trusting in the One I cannot see.
I know He is there to carry us through, but why has this happened? What did we do?
There is pain all around us. Children dying of cancer, senseless shootings and more sadness and despair than I remember ever seeing. What is becoming of the world around me? And why doesn't He just make it all go away?
I believe that this the biggest obstacle I have in my journey into a deeper relationship with my Heavenly Father. How can He watch while His loved ones perish?
But as I strive to chase after Him harder, to get to know Him better I am amazed at what I find. I find glimpses of His work all around. His perfect will in the midst of chaos. And I am brought to my knees.
"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3

The "unsearchable things" we don't know can be our undoing. Funny how He tells us they are "unsearchable" yet He'll tell us those great things.
I like what you're saying here -- this can hold you back, yet you keep chasing Him. And knowing Him.
That's what He asks to do ... and He'll reveal the "unsearchable."
That He keeps moving you to do that ... that He keeps moving me to do that. Thanks for being willing to ask the hard questions.
Oh, girl. I have struggled alot with this lately, especially since all over the news is nothing but BAD stuff. I wish we could have some light there, ya know.
But, Jesus is the light, so I look to Him to find answers of why the world is so depraved.
I truly love this post because I'm on the same page!
I understand the needing to ask why. It's also wonderful that through the asking whys He still stands beside us.
Julie, I have struggled with this as well.
For the past few years, I have kept a manila file folder on my desk marked "Mystery File" in big black letters. When I don't get stuff, I write it on the paper and put it in the mystery file.
I don't "get" a lot of stuff, but somehow admitting it on paper helps me to accept the fact that I'm never going to get it until I get There.
I always appreciate your honesty here, by the way.
(Great Scripture, by the way.)
Great post......I believe that seeking Him for the answers and digging even deeper is really the only thing we can do. And even when we don't find all the answers....we are keeping our eyes fixed on The One who knows all and keeping the faith to trust in Him.
